Merchant & Mills Schnitt - The Francli Weekender

The Francli Weekender - Merchant & Mills newest pattern collaboration with Francli Craftwear.  Ali from Francli Craftwear designs bags that are crafted with care, chosen with consideration and used for a lifetime. 

The perfect pack for weekend adventures. The Weekender comes in two sizes, small and large (both sizes included in the paper pattern). The large being more of a weekend trip bag and the small could be more of an everyday or overnight option. Both options have a lining with a pocket inside and a pocket outside. 

All seam allowances are 1cm unless otherwise stated.

Skill level - intermediate.

Fabric Suggestions:

Self - oilskin, dry oilskin, mid-heavy weight cotton canvas or drill, mid-heavy weight denim (8-14oz). 

Base - heavyweight canvas, duck canvas, expedition dry oilskin, traditional oilskin. 

Lining - mid weight cottons and denim, barrier lining (if using dry oilskin, or oilskin). 

Merchant & Mills has put together a kit of all the hardware you will need to make this bag which can be found here: Fern or Sand.

You will need:

2x 2.5cm/1" G hooks.

2x Leather Taps or leather remnant (10cm/4" x 6cm/22")

2x Rivets 

Large Holdall: 

- 272cm/107" x 30mm/14" webbing

- 70cm/27.5" x 25mm/1" webbing.

- 1x 22cm/9" finished zip & 1x 70cm/28" finished zip OR 2x continuous zips, 1 cut to 29cm/11.5" & 1 cut to 74cm/29".

Small Holdall:

- 218cm/86" x 30mm/14" webbing

- 64cm/25.5" x 25mm/14" webbing 

- 1x 20cm/8" finished zip & 1x 52cm/20" finished zip OR 2x continuous zips, 1 cut to 24cm/9.5" & 1 cut to 65cm/22".
